Behind the walls of an unassuming facility nestled into a quiet, cherry tree-lined park on the outskirts of Tokyo, the pieces of machine are being assembled—a machine designed to reach into the frontiers of discovery. Since 2025, the Reimei-Fugaku platform has served as a bridge between two distinct domains: the formidable classical power of RIKEN’s Fugaku supercomputer and the precision of Quantinuum’s Reimei quantum system. Today, that bridge gets stronger. We are proud to announce that our valued partner, RIKEN, has procured our H2 quantum computer to scale the potential of this hybrid compute platform. By integrating H2, Reimei-Fugaku can increase its capabilities, including: ▪️ Faster time-to-solution ▪️ Expanded workload capacity ▪️ Support for higher-value applications The H2 system arrived in crates from the U.S. earlier this month as the cherry blossoms began to bloom, a fitting symbol of new beginnings for this next chapter of innovation. Quantinuum Japan CEO Shuya Kekke and RIKEN’s Dr. Mitsuhisa Sato, Division Director of the Quantum-HPC Hybrid Platform Division, met at the facility to oversee the assembly already underway. Step inside RIKEN’s Wako campus to see how we’re pushing the boundaries of what is computationally possible. 🌸 Listen to the full conversation and learn more about our recent announcement here: https://lnkd.in/eEq84d2W

Happy World Quantum Day! Today is all about celebrating the collective effort to make quantum computing accessible to everyone. To us, accessibility means two things: ensuring the technology is industrially useful and making it easier for everyone to build with. We’re seeing that momentum today with a newly awarded ARPA-E project to develop quantum algorithms applicable across the energy sector (https://lnkd.in/em9KSuny), and later today, our Head of AI is joining NVIDIA Quantum Day to discuss how we’re integrating quantum with the AI tools developers already know and love (https://lnkd.in/eVkKyVAh). These milestones cap off a busy past year at Quantinuum spent breaking down barriers to help bring quantum computing from the lab to the real world. Here’s how we’re making that happen: ▪️ We’ve cleared one of the last major hurdles that long eluded commercial quantum platforms. By unlocking fault-tolerant universal gate operations beyond break-even we’ve paved a path toward large-scale, fault-tolerant quantum computing. https://lnkd.in/e3F3SPx8 ▪️ We released Guppy, a modern quantum programming language, into the big open waters. Being Python-like, it provides a familiar entry point for developers, lowering the barrier to entry for a broader community of builders. https://lnkd.in/e6FmiRDy ▪️ Our latest commercial quantum computer, Helios, achieved a 2:1 physical-to-logical qubit overhead and showed that we can increase scale without sacrificing fidelity. https://lnkd.in/eB6ZSxje ▪️ We’re exploring how AI can help us tackle the task of designing new quantum algorithms—starting with chemistry and optimization. https://lnkd.in/gDYt_bMs ▪️ We successfully coupled our Reimei quantum computer with RIKEN’s Fugaku supercomputer in Japan. https://lnkd.in/eKAMfK3i None of this is possible without you. We’re honored to support our growing community of users, partners, and innovators through our Q-Net and Startup Programs, and we’re always looking for more builders to join us! Want to join us? Get started here:https://lnkd.in/educ-s-G As quantum computing continues to advance, Quantinuum remains committed to shaping this critical technology and redefining what is computationally possible.
