  • Blockchain gaming has finally sobered up. The market no longer rewards empty token drops or JPEG lotteries; it rewards teams that nail three things: 1. Fun first, tokens second. If the core loop isn’t addictive without crypto, bots will be your only “users.” 2. Tokenomics with brakes. Build real sinks—upgrades, staking, limited‑run events—before you mint a single coin. Inflation kills faster than downtime. 3. Right chain, right now. Polygon for cheap scale, Immutable for friction‑free trading, Solana for twitch‑speed (plus the occasional heartbeat skip when it hiccups). We condensed every grim lesson (and a few spectacular wins) into a straight‑talk playbook: 👉 Read the “Blockchain Game Development Guide for Founders” → https://lnkd.in/dmc2HhFD 🛠 Need a line‑item budget in 3 min? • For teams building Web3 applications, it is highly recommended to include analytics features that provide real-time monitoring, automated compliance, and full cross-chain visibility. These tools streamline day-to-day operations and reduce risks right from the start. Recommended features to consider: - Live blockchain analytics to quickly spot unusual activity - Automated KYC/AML for faster, smoother onboarding and ongoing regulatory compliance - Cross-chain monitoring to keep track of assets moving between networks - Real-time alerts so your team is notified immediately of critical events For example: If a new wallet suddenly moves a large amount of tokens across chains, live analytics and automated alerts will flag the event right away. Your team can respond instantly, instead of learning about the issue from frustrated users or during a regulatory audit. Adding these features early can greatly reduce manual workload, prevent costly errors, and give both your team and your investors greater confidence in your platform. To estimate the cost of implementing these analytics tools for your product, try Ptolemay’s interactive calculator: https://lnkd.in/g25tdyBe For a detailed guide to the latest analytics solutions and practical implementation examples for Web3 projects in 2025, see: https://lnkd.in/d2jjXvhu #Web3 #Analytics #KYC #DeFi #Ptolemay

Top 11 Most Profitable Apps — 2025 Update Last year, Duolingo and PayPal were both in our list of the world’s top-earning apps. This year, they’re gone. Why? - Duolingo dropped out because games and “super apps” started earning much more from in-app spending and subscriptions. People still use Duolingo, but its revenue can’t keep up with mobile games like MONOPOLY GO! and services like Google One. - PayPal fell from the top 11 as more users switched to bundled payment features inside big apps like Google, or used new fintech solutions built right into their phones. Who replaced them? - Google One is now in the top 10. Bundled with every Android device, it quietly collects subscription fees for cloud storage from millions of users. - ChatGPT became one of the highest-grossing Android apps this year. Paid AI features and tokens made it a real business, not just a tech demo. - Max (HBO) entered the list with strong streaming growth and exclusive sports deals. What’s changed overall? Apps with multiple ways to make money (ads, in-app purchases, subscriptions) now lead the rankings. AI and “all-in-one” super apps are earning more than ever, especially if they tie into devices people already use. See which winners rose, which fell, and what it means for your next move: https://lnkd.in/dSXnfb-u Estimate your app’s real cost: https://lnkd.in/g25tdyBe #AppMonetization #MobileRevenue #StartupGrowth #Ptolemay

  • Ever look at your analytics, see the search bill, and think, “Damn, we just threw away a month of runway—and our users didn’t even notice”? Here’s a real story: a team in e-commerce plugged GPT-4 into every search, burned through $6,000 in tokens in one month, then got hit with a GDPR audit they failed. They had to scramble back to Elastic—three weeks of stress, a week of migration, all because nobody stopped to check the true cost of every ‘smart’ answer. If that sounds familiar, check out the article. You’ll find real numbers on speed, actual cost breakdowns per 10,000 queries, and a checklist to help you figure out which search engine actually fits your use case—in ten minutes flat. https://lnkd.in/d6KptbJe #startup #ai #productmanagement #search #foundertips

  • $1.5 billion stolen in minutes. In February 2025, Bybit’s missing device-risk checks let hackers drain their cold wallet almost instantly. Not a scare story — just a wake-up call for any team shipping apps without serious security. Here’s what’s actually at stake in 2025: - Global app fraud losses hit $12.5B last year and keep climbing. - Every $1 lost to chargebacks really costs you $3.60 after fees and support. - Most product teams are already boosting their anti-fraud budgets — because regulators, banks, and investors all check this line item now. Three things that protect your budget and your users: 1. Turn on MFA (two-factor authentication) anywhere money moves. Fast, cheap, and critical. 2. Check devices at login. Block anyone hammering your app with fake logins. 3. Use session risk scoring. Most users breeze through, only the sketchy ones get extra checks. We tested this setup in a healthcare app: fraud dropped sharply, and real users didn’t even notice — just quick logins, no extra hoops. Wondering what mobile app fraud prevention will actually cost for your business? We break down real numbers, SDK pricing, and practical steps in our latest guide: 👉 Mobile App Fraud Prevention Cost in 2025 https://lnkd.in/dcWqx-8h

  • Building apps for Singaporean fintechs is a different game entirely. Here are a few of the real surprises founders almost never budget for — and yes, we’ve seen these first-hand (we once had a project where the final cost ended up 1.5x the original estimate). 1️⃣ MAS compliance = a separate line item If you’re building fintech in Singapore, you simply can’t skip Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) audits. Expect audit trails, 2FA via SingPass, and a mountain of paperwork. This alone adds 15–30% to your budget and at least four weeks to your timeline. Miss something? It’s not just a slap on the wrist — your service can get blocked. 2️⃣ PDPA = not just a checkbox Unlike Europe, here encryption and access controls for user data aren’t optional. We’ve had to refactor backend architectures and roll out new consent screens mid-sprint after compliance reviews. 3️⃣ App Store/Google Play — local reviews Founders are often surprised that launching in the Singapore App Store often means producing a dedicated compliance report — sometimes even a video showing your transaction security flow. “Routine” releases can be delayed by weeks. 4️⃣ Local bank APIs = hidden rate limits We’ve integrated with OCBC and DBS, only to discover undocumented rate limits. One project was stalled for two weeks as we negotiated quota increases — not something you want to find out last minute. 5️⃣ QA and post-launch support are critical In Singapore, critical bugs and outages are highly visible. One day of downtime for a fintech service cost our client S$7,500. That’s why the QA budget here is always higher than similar projects in Europe or the US. In our new guide, we break down the real budgets, timelines, and Singapore-specific pitfalls of app development: 👉 https://lnkd.in/dmf6wbnK Plus, check out our free AI estimator to see what your project really costs — and where you shouldn’t try to save: 👉 https://lnkd.in/g25tdyBe #singapore #fintech #compliance #appdevelopment #foundertips #Ptolemay

🩺 We recently launched Diagnio (case: https://lnkd.in/d6Kp3J-S), a women’s health app for the UAE market. Along the way, we hit a few local roadblocks that can quietly blow up your budget — especially if you’ve only built for Western users before. Here’s the short version 📌 🔐 Legal & Compliance ✔️ Apps handling personal data must comply with the UAE’s PDPL ✔️ Healthtech apps require DHA clearance and in-country data hosting ✔️ Set aside 20–30% of your budget + extra weeks for audits and legal reviews 🌐 Localisation ≠ Translation ✔️ Arabic UI is right-to-left — it flips layouts, breaks standard components, and needs extra testing ✔️ Plan for 15–20% more in design, QA, and bug fixes ⚠️ Most hidden costs show up after launch. Lowball budgets fail here — not because of poor planning, but because too many founders underestimate what it takes to ship and scale in this market. 📊 Full cost breakdown & common pitfalls: https://lnkd.in/dSjEhrQX 💡 Or use our free UAE App Cost Calculator: https://lnkd.in/g25tdyBe #UAE #AppDevelopment #StartupTips #ProductManagement #PDPL #MENAStartups #Ptolemay

  • Launching an app in the UK soon? Here’s what every founder needs to know before the invoices roll in: - London quotes for a simple MVP average £90k+. Hybrid teams (UK product lead + EU devs) deliver the same quality for about £55k. - Don’t underestimate hidden costs: VAT (20%), GDPR compliance, and annual support add another 20–40% to your budget. - Grants and tax relief (SEIS, R&D credits, Innovate UK) can easily reduce your spend by up to 50%—most founders overlook this. We put together a clear, actionable guide with exact rates, hidden pitfalls, and smart cost-saving strategies based on our experience helping UK startups. 👉 Read the full guide and estimate your own costs here: https://lnkd.in/d5cAhAmD #AppDevelopment #StartupUK #FounderAdvice #MVP #Ptolemay

A lot of founders still treat Flutter like a cheaper plan B. In Germany, it’s the opposite — it’s what saves you from rework hell. We’ve seen MVPs built on “whatever’s fastest” get blocked at the App Store stage: – Crash into GDPR issues – Fail basic accessibility checks – Get kicked out of B2B pilots Meanwhile, apps built on Flutter — properly — passed those gates the first time. Not because Flutter is magic, but because the right devs build with rules in mind: 1 - Accessibility from sprint one 2 - Legal pages that actually meet German standards 3 - A structure that doesn’t lock product behind dev sprints It’s not cheap. But neither is rebuilding your app because no one added a WCAG checklist. We broke this down — along with real budgets, risks, and what German-market apps actually cost to build (and rebuild): 👉 https://lnkd.in/dRh7Q97i #Ptolemay #GermanStartup #GDPR #EuropeTech #DigitalGermany

  • Instagram went from zero to a $1B Facebook acquisition in just 18 months—with a team of TWO. One coded. The other answered every user and put out server fires during 25,000-signup hours. No Scrum Masters. No PMs. No DevOps with 100-step pipelines. Two people × eight weeks = a real MVP that broke the market. If you’re even thinking about hiring a “process owner” while your team still fits around a pizza, pause. Read when you actually need a PM, Scrum Master, or QA—and when they just burn your runway. 👉 Full breakdown, role-by-role cheat sheet, and real horror stories of “status hires” right here: https://lnkd.in/dkdndK7x #Ptolemay #Hiring #ProductManagement #Startups
