Data Infrastructure and Analytics

A next-generation data infrastructure platform

About us

Eon is changing the cloud data infrastructure space by introducing a new storage tier that turns backups into live strategic assets — seamlessly automated, radically cost-efficient, and instantly usable for AI and analytics. Backed by Sequoia Capital, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Greenoaks Capital and BOND Capital, among other prominent investors, Eon is led by the team that founded CloudEndure (Cloud Disaster Recovery and Migration startup, acquired by AWS), and built two native AWS services: AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery, and AWS Application Migration Service, supporting the world's largest enterprises.

🚀 Excited to share that I’ll be speaking at BigQuery Day on May 19! Over the past few years, I’ve had the opportunity to design and optimize BigQuery environments across different types of organizations, having collaborated with companies such as Havas and L.L.Bean. In this session, I’ll distill those experiences into a practical FinOps playbook: 💡 How to put the right guardrails in place   📊 Keep costs predictable   ⚙️ Turn BigQuery into a scalable and sustainable data platform  The focus is on real, actionable strategies you can take back and apply to your own projects immediately. 🔥 The lineup is packed with great sessions too: → 🎤 Keynote with Tomas Talius and Ron Kimchi → 🤖 Alicia Williams on BigQuery AI functions   → 🔐 Vishal Bulbule on secure, high-performance data platforms   → 🔄 Oryan Omer on rollback strategies → 📈 Axel Thevenot and Sayle Matthews on BigQuery at scale 🌍 Free, virtual, one-day event — hosted by Eon.io and Google Cloud. Hope to see you there 🚀 Register: https://lnkd.in/eny72YtF

In just nine seconds, an AI agent deleted a production database and every backup attached to it. And we’ve been hearing about similar incidents (some don't get published publicly) on a weekly basis over the past few weeks. It wasn’t malicious. The agent had a real token, a real endpoint, and ran a permitted operation. Everything looked legitimate right up until the data was gone. This is the failure mode AI agents introduce, and most backup architectures aren't built for it. Backups that share credentials, control planes, or storage with production go down with production. What an AI-safe recovery architecture actually looks like: ✨ Backups outside the production blast radius ✨ Immutability that holds against valid credentials ✨ Detection that runs against backup contents, not just the storage layer ✨ Granular restore at the row, table, object, or file level Learn more and get the checklist: https://lnkd.in/eG8smXWZ

Using AI shouldn't mean context-switching between notebooks and external APIs every time you want to work with your data. At BigQuery Day on May 19, Alicia Williams, Developer Advocate at Google Cloud, is walking through how to use the latest BigQuery AI functions to transform, enrich, and extract insights from your datasets. If you join this technical walkthrough for practitioners, you'll leave with patterns you can apply to your own BigQuery workloads. Free, virtual, one day, with Eon and Google Cloud. If your team is getting serious about AI on BigQuery, this is the session: https://lnkd.in/e49bDmpM

LAST DAY of #GoogleCloudNext. Last chance to hop on the Eon Cloud Express VR ride at Booth 1615 🚆 A few highlights from the week: -The Eon AI Agent was announced as one of the featured partner-built agents inside Gemini Enterprise. Cloud infrastructure teams can now run data protection on Google Cloud through natural conversation. -Ron Kimchi took the Expo Theater stage to show how Eon turns static BigQuery, GCS, and GCE snapshots into live, AI-ready assets. -We went agentic with Google Cloud in the lounge, walking through how to build and orchestrate multi-agent systems end to end. -Booth 1615 turned into home base all week. VR rides, Ray-Ban Metas, and a steady stream of conversations about what it actually takes to turn backup data into a goldmine. -And the Gold Rush Happy Hour at Clique lived up to its name. Thanks to everyone who made it out (and to whoever found the right key to the treasure chest). Come find us before the show closes.

That's a wrap on Ron Kimchi's lightning session at #GoogleCloudNext! Our CTO and Co-Founder broke down how Eon turns static BigQuery, GCS, and GCE snapshots into live, usable assets, and shared a practical approach to automated governance and isolated storage that moves data roadmaps forward without the overhead of traditional recovery. If you missed it and want to dig into what Eon can do for your data stack, our team is at booth 1615 through the rest of the event.

Eon is one of the featured partner-built agents now available inside Gemini Enterprise, announced this week at Google Cloud Next '26. What that means: cloud infrastructure teams can now run data protection operations on Google Cloud through conversation instead of console clicks. Connect accounts, trigger discovery, monitor what's protected, track backup jobs, and inspect restores. All inside the Gemini Enterprise app. Thank you to the Google Cloud team for highlighting our work!
