On Tuesday, Bloomberg reported this week was shaping up to be the busiest in IPO offerings since 2021. Given these developments in capital markets, conversations like the one hosted by the Rocky Mountain Venture Capital Association are critically important. Thanks to the panelists Brian Birk, Cullen Lee, Courtney Tygesson and John Uczekaj, and to Arena's Jason Golz, CFA, for moderating.
Going public is one of the highest-profile milestones in a company’s corporate life. Last week, I had the honor of moderating an IPO readiness panel at the Rocky Mountain Venture Capital Association's annual Ski Doggle with 80 venture investors from the mountain states. With all of the key IPO players represented on our panel, we covered the A to Z of the transition—from crafting the investment narrative and roadshow readiness to the boundaries of the modern quiet period. We even discussed common pitfalls of the first earnings announcement. Many thanks to my fellow panelists and to the RMVC, including: Brian Birk – Sun Mountain Capital Courtney Tygesson – Cooley LLP Cullen Lee – Stifel John Uczekaj – The AIRO Group If your company is planning an IPO in 2026, please check out Arena's IPO Rules of the Road: https://lnkd.in/gRQBm-4s #RMVCA #IPO

At the DealBook Summit, Palantir Technologies' Alex Karp was pressed on a hypothetical: what if the U.S. government wanted an equity stake in his company. Beyond hypotheticals, the recent federal stake in private company xLight Inc. continues the pattern that began with the administration’s 10 percent position in Intel under the CHIPS Act. That deal, and others like it, signal that federal capital is moving beyond grants and loans to direct ownership. And ownership brings expectations. Arena’s Amanda Duckworth and Jason Golz, CFA examined what this means for investor relations teams. As we return from Thanksgiving, it’s a moment to reflect on what we are grateful for. Our thanks and gratitude go to our colleagues and friends who joined us in San Francisco for our offsite earlier this month. It was energizing to bring our team together and spend meaningful time focused on our clients and the year ahead. Success is built in the moments that matter: the conversations that shape a strategy, the partnerships that deepen over time, and the time together that strengthens what we are building. We head into 2026 with renewed focus, momentum, and much gratitude. J.
