About us

At American Express, we know that with the right backing, people and businesses have the power to progress in incredible ways. Whether we’re supporting our customers’ financial confidence to move ahead, taking commerce to new heights, or encouraging people to explore the world, our colleagues are constantly striving to uphold our powerful backing promise to our customers and each other every day. For generations, the key to our success has been the determination and resilience of our American Express colleagues. Now, as a globally integrated payments company, we work together to provide customers with access to products, insights and world-class experiences that enrich lives and build business success. In this latest installment of Ira the Archivist, our resident expert on Amex’s history is on hand to tell us more. For a deeper dive, read here: https://go.amex/3GLtxz

At the 2026 American Express Leadership Academy in NYC, Ravi Radhakrishnan, Chief Information Officer at American Express, joined Naria Santa Lucia, General Manager, Microsoft Elevate, for a hands-on conversation with nonprofit leaders about navigating the evolving AI landscape.    Moderated by Madge Thomas, Head of Corporate Sustainability at American Express, the group explored practical use cases and how to balance innovation with mission.    As technology continues to evolve, sessions like this are designed to give leaders the clarity and confidence to embrace new tools — while staying grounded in the communities they serve.    Watch a few key insights from the discussion:

Today, we are introducing the Amex Agentic Commerce Experiences (ACE)™ Developer Kit and announcing an industry-first commitment to protect registered AI agent purchases through Amex Agent Purchase Protection™. As AI agents reshape how Card Members make everyday transactions, we are bringing our longstanding commitment to trust, security, and service into AI-powered commerce. The ACE Developer Kit is a framework that provides technical specifications designed to bring American Express-issued Cards and Membership value into AI-powered interactions with trust and control. It will enable intent-driven transactions with end-to-end visibility across the commerce lifecycle through American Express’ closed-loop network. Building on our long-standing commitment to backing our customers, we are also announcing Amex Agent Purchase Protection, an industry-first commitment to extend our backing to purchases made by registered AI agents on behalf of Card Members. In the future, when a Card Member authorizes a registered AI agent to make a purchase and that agent sends American Express the customer’s authenticated purchase intent, we will protect eligible customers from charges related to AI agent error (terms and conditions will apply). Together, these efforts help lay the foundation for agentic commerce to scale with transparency, accountability, and confidence. #TeamAmex is built for this moment. • Four days. Dozens of meaningful conversations across nonprofit leaders focused on driving real impact.    The 2026 American Express Leadership Academy in New York brought together changemakers from across the Americas for an immersive experience focused on agility, storytelling, and human-centered leadership.    From powerful discussions on storytelling as strategy, to candid reflections on resilience and leading through complexity, the conversations reinforced what today’s nonprofit leaders need most: connection, clarity, and community.    Thank you to our speakers, partners, and the incredible nonprofit leaders who made this year’s Academy such a strong reminder of what’s possible when leaders invest in one another.

At American Express, we know that when you invest in one nonprofit leader, the impact doesn’t stop there — it ripples outward to teams, organizations, and entire communities. We’re passing the phone to the inspiring leaders at the recent NYC American Express Leadership Academy, in partnership with Common Purpose. Your turn — who are you passing the phone to? Our diners want to know who’s behind the meal, what inspired it, why it exists, and to feel part of that story while they’re at the table. Beginning in June, this appetite is shaping a new expansive partnership between American Express, Resy and Chef's Table.   For more than a decade, the “Chef’s Table” docuseries has brought chef stories to life, allowing viewers to follow their personal journeys in shaping culture through craft and creativity. Now, diners can join Chef’s Table dining experiences that translate chefs’ stories into meals they won’t just watch unfold, but live bite-by-bite.   On Set with Chef’s Table, a three‑part dinner series in NYC, LA, and SF kicks off the partnership in June, followed by the newly created Chef’s Table Festival in Park City and Chef’s Table Honors in Las Vegas.   Read more about this partnership in the American Express newsroom. https://lnkd.in/e-JRmuGi
